Missouri  License Information
You will need to apply for your license at  the Marriage
Bureau or Recorder of Deeds in the County Clerk's office in
your respective city at least three days before the ceremony, and
preferably two weeks before. You must be over eighteen years
of age and bring your birth certificate, Driver's License, State
ID or other proof of identity and age.

The license is usually good for 30 days and you may need a
witness for the application. If you have been previously married
you will need to provide information about the dissolution and
you must wait at least 30 days before applying for a marriage
license.
Bride and Groom must both appear before Recorder of Deeds
to apply for license. The marriage will not be official until the
Officiant signs the license. He or she will file it within 10 days.
If Bride wishes to change her name on Driver's License.
Social Security card, etc., she will need a certified copy of the
license after it is received and filed by County Clerk.

Solemnizing Authority: Must be clergyman or woman, active
or retired, who is in good standing with any church or synagogue

organization in Mo. of which either party is a member in
accordance with the organization's requirements or customs.

Common Law: No, but Mo. law does recognize any that were
entered  intoprior to 1921 as well as any contracted in states
which permit them.

         Kansas License Requirements

Must be over 18 years of age--certified birth certificate required.
Full name required,  Social Security number, race, residence,
birthplace, date of birth, highest level of education completed,
full names of parents of both parties and birthplaces. Also name
and address of Wedding Officiant, if known.

Residency Requirement: No

If there has been a previous marriage, must have details as to
how it ended, death or divorce, and whether it was first, second,
third, etc.
If there has been a divorce the decree must have been filed over
30 days before applying for license.
Applicant can be bride or groom and must swear under oath that
they are not related---1st cousins or closer, and that they know
no reason why they should not be legally married.

Waiting Period: 3 days
Blood Test: No
Fees: $50 plus $25 for a judicial branch surcharge, payable in
cash or money order made out to "Clerk of District Court."
If under 18: Notarized, written consent of both
parents/guardians, or one parent/guardian and a District Court
judge.
Same Gender: No
Common Law: No
Solemnizing Authority: Any currently ordained clergyperson
or religious authority of any religious denomination or society;
any licentiate of a denominational body or an appointee of any
bishop serving as the religious clergyperson of any church to
which the licentiate or appointee belongs if not prohibited from
doing so by church law; any judge or justice of any court; any
municipal judge of any city in Kansas; any retired judge or
justice of any court
The license is valid for six months and is legal when signed by
the Officiant, who has to return it within 19 days.

These marriage requirements are often changed by both states so
you should check with marriage license bureau or County Clerk
for  their current requirements
