Readings And Poetry---2
                Lessons Of The Heart
                     A Mountain Wings Original
              By Aussie Allen, Portland Oregan
                     In a letter to her daughter

Love is not the latest ballad on the radio,
It is the song of a lifetime.
Love is not the rock on the finger
of the girl you plan to marry,
it is the size of the boulder you move to repair the marriage;
Love is not the fairy-tale that ends with happy-ever-after,
it is the hand that wipes away the tears;
Love is not in the spotlight,
it is waiting in the shadows;
Love is not flowers or candy,
it is truth and honesty.
Love is not the ease of the quest,
it is the commitment to the relationship;
Love is not expensive restaurants,
it is the sacrifice made to feed a child;
Love is not the dreams come  true,
it is chasing nightmares away;
Love is not the success of money,
it is the failure to find fault;
Love is not sweet nothings whispered in the ear,
it is accepting the thoughts of others;
Love is not the perfect picture,
it is the flaw that makes us what we are.

In An Instant
              Rev. Melissa Straub  AAWO
               www.occasionallyyoursbrevard.com

Our soulmates exist
in this well-charted life;
When we find them we know
in an instant it's right;
And although to some
it seems far too fast,
who are we to judge
when their hearts meet at last?
For they have known all along
to whom they belong,
their souls come together
like a well rehearsed song;
Let us support and nurture
the love these two know,
so that through their lives together
this love shall continue to grow.

A Reading -----
                        Victor Hugo

You can give without loving but you can never love without
giving;
The great acts of love are done by those who are habitually
performing small acts of kindness.
We pardon to the extent that we love.
Love is knowing that even when you are alone, you will never
be lonely again.
And great happiness of life is the conviction
that we are loved.
Loved for ourselves.
And even loved in spite of ourselves.

On Love
                      Thomas A'Kempis (1379--1471)

Love is a mighty power, a great and complete good.
Love alone lightens every burden
and makes rough places smooth.
It bears every hardship as though it were nothing,
and renders all bitterness sweet and acceptable.
Nothing is sweeter than love, nothing higher
nothing wider and nothing more pleasant,
nothing fuller or better in Heaven or on Earth.
For Love is born of God.
Love flies and runs and leaps for joy.
It is free and unrestrained.
Love knows no limits but it ardently trabscends all bounds.
Love feels no burden and takes no account of toil,
attempts things beyond its strength.
Love sees nothing as impossible
for it feels able to achieve all things.
It is strange and effective while those who lack love
.faint and fail.
Love is not fickle and sentimental
nor is it intent on vanities.
Like a living flame and a burning torch
it surges upward and surely surmounts every obstacle.

Destiny

Somewhere there waiteth in this world of ours
for one lone soul another lonely soul,
Each choosing each through all the weary universe
and meeting strangely at one sudden goal.
Then blend they,like the green leaves with golden flowers,
into one beautiful and perfect whole;
And life's long night ended, and the way
lies opened to eternal Day.

   Quote from "Hamlet"
                                   William Shakespeare

Doubt thou the stars are fire;
Doubt that the sun doth move,
Doubt Truth to be a liar,
but never doubt I love.

The Colour Of My Love
                        David Foster and Arthur Janov

I'll paint a sun to warm your heart knowing that we'll never
part,
I'll draw the years all passing by,
so much to learn, so much to try,
I'll paint my mood in a shadow blue,
paint my soul to be with you,
I'll sketch your lips in shaded tones, draw your mouth to my
own.
I'll trace a hand to wipe your tears
and trace a lock to calm your fears;
A silhouette of dark and light
to hold each other, oh so tight;
I'll paint the stars in the evening sky,
draw the light into your eyes,
A touch of love, a touch of grace,
to softly fall on your moonlit face.
And with this ring our lives will start,
let nothing keep our love apart,
I'll take your hand to hold in mine,
we'll be together for all time.

My True Love Hath My Heart
                            Sir Philip Sidney(1554-1586)

My true love hath my heart, and I have his,
by just exchange one for another given;
I hold his dear, and mine he cannot miss,
there never was a better bargain driven.

My true love hath my heart, and I have his,
my heart in me keeps him and me in one,
My heart in him his thoughts and senses guide;
I cherish his because in me it bides;
My true love hath my heart, and I have his.

   With You
                      From the musical: "Pippin"

My days are brighter than morning sun,
evergreen pine and autumn blue,
But all my days are twice as fair
if I could share my days with you.
My nights are warmer than firecoals,
incense and stars and smoke bamboo,
but nights are warm beyond compare
if I could share my nights with you.

Ti dance in my dreams, to shine when I need the sun
with you to hold me when dreams are done---
And oh---my dearest one, if you will take my love,
then all my dreams are truly begun.

And time weaves ribbons of memory
to sweeten life when youth is thru
but I would need no memory if I could share
my life with you.

Celtic Wedding Blessing

May your mornings bring joy and your evenings bring peace,
May your troubles grow few as your blessings increase;
May the saddest day of your future be no worse
than the happiest day of your past;
May your hands be forever clasped in friendship,
and your hearts joined forever in love.
Your lives are very special, God has touched you in many
ways;
May His blessings rest upon you and fill all your coming
days.

     Promises

I cannot promise you a life of sunshine,
I cannot promise riches, wealth or gold;
I cannot promise you an easy pathway
that leads away from change or growing old.
But I can promise all my heart's devotion,
a smile to chase away your tears of sorrow,
A love that's ever true and ever growing,
a hand to hold in yours thru each tomorrow.

My Delight And Your Delight
                         Robert Bridges  (1844--1930)

My delight and thy delight
walking, like two angels white,
in the gardens of the night;

My desire and thy desire
twining to a tongue of fire,
leaping live, and laughing higher;

Through the everlasting strife
in the mysteries of Life,
love from whom the world begun,
hath the secret of the sun.

Love can tell, and Love alone,
whence the million stars were strewn,
why each atom knows its own,
how, in spite of woe and death,
gay is Life and sweet is Breath.

This he taught us, this we knew,
happy in his science true,
hand in hand as we stood
'neath the shadows of the wood,
Heart to heart as we lay,
in the dawning of the day.

Love Is Enough
                     William Morris (1834--1896)

Love is enough: though the world be a-waning,
and the woods have no voice but the voice of complaining,
Though the sky be too dark for dim eyes to discover
the gold-cups and daisies fair blooming thereunder,
though the hills be held shadows, and the sea a dark wonder,
and this day draw a veil over all deeds pass'd,
Yet their hands shall not tremble, their feet shall not falter,
the void shall not weary, the fear shall not alter
these lips and these eyesof the loved and the lover.

All Things Are Ours
                                Barbara Burrow

All things are ours because we love,
the earth below, the sky above,
the mountains, meadow, sand and sea.
All things surrounding you and me
are but a sweet reflection of
the gentle wonder of our love.

     Love
                      Roy Croft

I love you.
Not only for what you are
but for what  I am when I am with you.

I love you.
Not  only for what you have \made of yourself
but for what you are making of me.

I love you
for the part of me that you bring out;
I love you
for putting your hand into my heaped--up heart
and passing over all the foolish, weak things
that you can't help dimly seeing there,
and for drawing out into the light
all the beautiful belongings
that no-one else had looked
quite far enough to find.

I love you
because you are helping me to make
of the lumber of my life
not a tavern but a temple,
out of the works of my every day
not a reproach but a song.

I love you
because you have done more than any friend,
more than any creed could have done
to make me good
and more than any fate could have done
to make me happy.

You have done it without a touch,
without a word. without a sign.
You have done it by being yourself.
Perhaps that is what being a friend means,
after all.

May Our Friendship
        Last Forever
                                    Author Unknown

May our friendship last forever;
May I sail upon your sea.
May we go through Life together,
May there always be a "we."

May I be your endless sky;
May you breathe my gentle air.
May you never wonder why
each time you look for me, I'm there.

May we be for each a smile
like the warm, life--giving sun;
Yet when we're in pain awhile,
May our suffering be one.

May we share our special dats,
the happiness of one for two;
And if we must go our separate ways
let my Love remain with you.

Friendship
                     Hartley Coleridge  (1726--1849)

When we were idlers with the loitering rills,
the need of human love we little noted;
our love was nature; and the peace that floated
     on the white mist
and dwelt upon the hills,
to sweet accord subdued our wayward wills;
One soul was ours, one mind, one heart devoted,
that, wisely doting, ask'd not why it doted,
and ours the unknown joy, which knowing kills.
But now I find how dear thou wert to me;
That man is more than half of nature's treasure,
Of that fair beauty which no eye can see,
Of that sweet music which no ear can measure;
And now the streams may sing for other's pleasure,
The hills sleep on in their eternity.

On Your Wedding Day
                                 AuthorUnknown

Today is a day you will always remember,
the greatest in anyone's life,
You'll start off the day just two people in love
and end it as husband and wife.

It's a brand new beginning, the start of a journey,
with moments to cherish and treasure,
And although there'll be times when you both disagree,
these will surely be outweighed by pleasure.

You'll have heard many words of advice in the past,
when the secrets of marriage were spoken;
but you know that the answers lie hidden inside
where the bond of true love lies unbroken.

So live happy forever as lovers and friends,
it's the dawn of a new life for you;
As you stand there together with love in your eyes
from the moment you whisper:  "I do."

And with luck all your hopes, and your dreams can be real,
May success find its way to your hearts;
Tomorrow can bring you the greatest of joys,
but today is the day it all starts.

Love Is A Friendship
                                 Author Unknown

Love is a friendship that has caught fire;
It is quiet understanding, mutual confidence,
sharing and forgiving;
It is loyalty through good and bad,
It settles for less than perfection,
and makes allowances for human weakness.
Love is content with the present.
It hopes for the future and it doesn't brood over the past.
It's the day-in and day-out chronicle
of irritations, problems, compromises,
small disappointments, big victories,
and working toward common goals.
If you have love in your life,
it can make up for a great many things you lack.
If you don't have it, no matter what else there is,
it is not enough.
So search for it, ask God for it---and share it!

I Seem To Have Loved You
                                  Rabinddrath Tagore

I seem to have loved you in numberless forms,
numberless times, in life after life, age after age----forever.
My spell-bound heart has made and re--made
the necklace of songs that you take as a gift,
wear 'round your neck in your many forms,
in life after life, in age after age forever.
Whenever I hear old chronicles of love,
its age--old pain, its ancient tale of being apart or together,
as I stare on and on into the past, in the end you emerge
clad in the light of a pale star
piercing the darkness of Time;
You become an image of what is remembered forever.
You and I have floated here on the stream
that brings from the fount at the Heart of Time
love of one for another.
We have played alongside millions of lovers,
shared in the same shy meetness of meeting,
the same distressful tears of farewell----
old love, but in shapes that renew and rener---forever.
Today it is heaped at your feet,
it has found its end in you,
the love of all man's days both past and forever;
Universal sorrow, universal joy, universal life,
the memories of all loves merging
with this one love of ours,
and the songs of every poet past and forever.

I Love Thee!
                            Eliza Acton

I love thee,
as I love the calm of sweet, star--lighted hours!
I love thee,
as I love the balm of early jas'min flow'rs.
I love thee,
as I love the last rich smile of fading day,
which lingereth, like the look we cast
on rapture pass'd away.
I love thee,
as I love the tone of some soft--breathing flute
whose soul is wak'd for  me alone
when all beside is mute.
I love thee,
as I love the first young violet of the Spring;
pr the pale lily, April-nurs'd, to scented blossoming.
I love thee,
as I love the full, clear gushings of the song
which,lonely--sad--beautiful, at nightfall floats along,
pour'd by the bul-bul forth to greet the hours of rest and dew,
when melody and moonlight meet
to blend their charm and hue.
I love thee,
as the glad bird loves the freedom of its wing,
on which, delightedly, it moves in wildest wandering.
I love thee,
as I love the swell, and hush, of some low strain
which bringeth, by its gentle spell, the past to life again.
Such is the feeling which from thee, nought earthly can allure,
'Tis ever link'd to all I see of gifted--high--and pure!

Remember
                               Author Unknown

Remember that anything beautiful comes from God.
In the Beginning God gave us our Free Will
and our Identity to walk this earth.
Don't ever try to change each other for if you do
you will lose exactly what you fell in love with.
So each day try to find one more thing
that is beautiful in your mate;
And each day know that the next day
will be more beautiful than the one before;
and as long as you are doing this you are seeking
Beauty, Joy, and Love in each other.

I Am Love
                               Author Unknown

Some say I can fly on the wind, yet I haven't any wings.
Some have found me floating on the open sea,
yet I cannot swim.
Some have felt my warmth on cold nights,
yet I have no flame.
And though you cannot see me
I lay between two lovers at the hearth of fireplaces.
I am the twinkle in your child's eyes.
I am hidden in the lines of your mother's face.
I am your father's shield as he guards your home.
And yet---
Some say I am stronger than steel, yet I am as fragile as a
tear.
Some have never searched for me,
yet I am around them always.
Some say I die with loss, yet I am endless.
And though you cannot hear me,
I dance on the laughter of children.
I am woven into the whispers of passion.
I am in the blessings of grandmothers.
I embrace the cries of newborn babies.
And yet----
Some say I am a flower, yet I am also the seed.
Some have little faith in me
yet I will always believe in them.
Some say I cannot cure the ill
yet I nourish the soul.
And though you cannot touch me,
I am the gentle hands of the kind,
I am the fingertips that caress your cheek at night.
I am the hug of a child.
I Am Love.

Looking For Your Face
                                            Rumi

From the beginning of my life
I have been looking for your face---
and today I have found it.

Today I have seen the charms, the beauty,
the unfathomable grace of the face
that I was looking for.

Today I have found you
and those who laughed and scorned me yesterday
are sorry they were not  looking
as I did.

I am bewildered by the magnificence
of your beauty
and wish to see you with a hundred eyes.

My heart has burned with passion
and has searched forever
for this wondrous beauty
that I now behold.

I am ashamed to call this love human
and afraid of love to call it divine.

Your fragrant breath, like the morning breeze,
has come to the stillness of the garden.
You have breathed new life into me;
I have become your sunshine
and also your shadow.

My soul is screaming in ecstasy.
Every fiber of my being is in love with you.

Your effulgence has lit a fire in my heart
for me the earth and sky;

My arrow of love has arrived at the target,
I am in the House of Mercy
and my heart is a place of prayer.

Twin Souls
                           Christina Idzik Weiss

Too long now has my soul wandered
aimlessly searching
for what we once shared.
Centuries have passed, my husband,
it is time to reclaim what I have only loaned
to the Universe;
I will summon you tonight
then gone will be the ache of missing your embrace.
Is your soul ready to receive my prayer?
Silently I whisper to the wind
and let it take my beckoning call to your temple.
The moon, the stars, the wind,
tonight they are my accomplices.
Find him, I plead,
cast away the veil of unfamiliarity
and when he awakes from his peaceful slumber
let his soul recognize me
as I am his destiny----I am his true wife.

The Magic Of Love
                                  Helen Steiner Rice

Love is like magic and it always will be,
for love still remains Life's sweet mystery!
Love works in ways that are wondrous and strange,
and there's nothing in life that love cannot  change1
Love can transform the most commonplace into beauty and
splendour and sweetness and grace.
Love is unselfish, understanding and kind,
for it sees with its heart and not with its mind;
Love is the answer that everyone seeks---
Love is the language  that everyonw speaks.
Love can;t be bought, it is priceless and free,
Love, like pure magic, is a sweet Mystery!

A Prayer To Honor
The Four Directions

( In many ancient religious traditions, especially Native
American and Celtic Which is pronounced Keltic, and refers
to the Irish, Welsh and many nature or earth-based religions,,
 it was customary to invite all of creation to be present and take
part in the festivities. These prayers honor the Spirits of the
North, South, East and West. and can be incorporated into
any ceremony. The North represents Earth, the South
represents Fire, The East represents Air, and the West is
Water..  All these elements are governed by specific
Archangels as well and some couples like to ask for their
blessings.)

O Great Spirit of the North;
We come to you and ask for the strength and the power to bear
what is cold and harsh in life.
We come like the buffalo ready to receive the winds that truly
can be overwhelming at times.
Whatever is cold and uncertain in our life, we ask you to give
us the strength to bear it. Do not let the winter blow us away.
O Spirit of Life, Spirit of the North: we ask you for strength
and for warmth.

O Great Spirit of the East:
We turn to you where the sun comes up, from where the power
of Light and refreshment come.
Everything that is born comes up in this direction: the birth of
babies, the birth of the animals, the birth of ideas and
friendships. and all communications of the mind, all
intelligence.
Let there be the Light!
O Spirit of the East, let the colour of fresh rising in our life be
glory to the God of Creation.

O Great Spirit of the South:
Spirit of all that is warm and gentle and refreshing,
we ask you to give us this spirit of growth, of fertility, of
gentleness.
Caress us with a cool breeze when the days are hot.
Give us seeds that the flowers, trees and fruits of the earth may
grow.
Give us the warmth of good friendships.
O Spirit of the South, send the warmth and the growth of your
blessings.

O Great Spirit of the West:
Where the sun goes down each day to give us rest,
We turn to you in praise of sunsets, and in thanksgiving for
changes.
You are the great colored sunset of the west, which illuminates
us.
You are the powerful cycle which pulls us to transformation.
We ask for the blessings of the sunset  in the twilight of our
years.
O Spirit of the West, keep us open to Life's changes.

Prayer To The Four ArchAngels

The ArchAngel Raphael is the Guardian of the East and
the Element of Air--
-Yellow is his color which symbolizes the intellect and the
mind.
We ask that the bonds of Love be tied closely between these
two, that there be good communication between them and their
family and that they may have the intellect and the wisdom to
solve all their problems in a loving and spiritual way.
Raphael is also the Archangel of music and heaking and we
ask him to help this couple to have a Song of Love for each
other always in their hearts, and if they wound one another with
hurtful words in the heat of anger, we ask that Raphael heal
these wounds and bring them peace.

The Archangel Michael is the Guardian of the South and
the Element of Fire---
His colour is red which symbolizes passion, vitality, energy
and love.
We ask that the love of these two people be granted an all
consuming ardor that will burn brightly until the end of time,
and we ask that they be given the needed energy to  fulfill the
responsibilities of marriage and to raise their children in peace
and love.

The ArchAngel Gabriel is the Guardian of the West and
the Element of Water---
Her color is blue and she symbolizes emotion.
We ask that this couple be given the deepest of love, richness of
body, of soul and of spirit and that this love be passed on to
their children.
Never let  them forget that they are a part of a family no matter
how many mistakes they may make as they grow and learn

The ArchAngel Uriel is the Guardian of the North and
the Element of Earth.
His colors are green for growth, and brown for strength and
stability. We ask that the love pledged here today grow deeper
and stronger as the years pass, and that strength and constancy
be theirs always to help them keep their vows to each other,

Irish Blessing

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
the rains fall soft upon your fields,
and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of his hand.

May God be with you and bless you;
May you see your children's children,
May you be poor in misfortune,
rich in blessings,
and may you know nothing but happiness
from this day forward.

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the warm rays of the sun fall upon your home,
and may the hand of a friend always be near.

May green be the grass you walk on,
May blue be the skies above you,
May pure be the joys that surround you,
May true be the hearts that love you.

Celtic Wedding Vow

You cannot possess me for I belong to myself
but while we both wish it,
I give you that which is mine to give.
You cannot command me, for I am a free person
but I shall serve you in those ways you require
and the honeycomb will taste sweeter
coming from my hand.

I pledge to you that yours will be
the name I cry aloud in the night
and the eyes into which I smile in the morning;
I pledge to you the first bite of my meat
and the first drink from my cup;
I pledge to you my living and my dying,
each equally in your care.

I shall be a shield for your back and you for mine.
I shall not slander you, nor you me.
I shall honor you above all others
and when we quarrel we shall do so in private
and tell no strangers our grievances.
This is my wedding vow to you.
This is the marriage of equals.

Apache Wedding Blessing

Now you will feel no rain,
for each of you will be shelter for the other;
Now you will feel no cold,
for each of you will be warmth to the other;
Now there will be no more loneliness,
for each of you will be companion to the other;
Now you are two persons,
but there is only one life before you.
May beauty surround you both in the journey ahead
and through all the years.
May happiness be your companion
and your days together be good and long upon the earth.

Cherokee Marriage Blessing

God in Heaven above, please protect the ones we love;
We honor all you have created
as we pledge our hearts and lives together;
We honour Mother--Earth---
and ask for our marriage to be abundant
and grow stronger through the seasons;
We honour Fire---
and ask that our union be warm and glowing
with love in our hearts;
We honour Wind---
and ask that we sail through life safe and calm
as in our  Father's arms;
We honour Water---
to clean and soothe our relationship
that it  may never thirst for love;
With all the forces of the Universe you created,
we pray for harmony and true happiness
as we forever grow young together.

  Eskimo Wedding Song

You are my husband/wife,
My feet shall run because of you,
My feet shall dance because of you,
My heart shall beat because of you,
My eyes  see because of you,
My mind thinks because of you
and I shall love because of you.

From "Corelli's Mandolin"
                              Louise De Bernieres

Love is a temporary madness.
It erupts like a volcano, and then subsides.
And when it subsides, you have to make a decision.
You have to work out whether your roots
have so entwuned together that it is inconceivable
that you should ever part.
Because this is what Love is.
Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement,
it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion---
that is just being "in love, " which any fool can do.
Love itself is what is left over
when being "in love" has burned away.
And this is both an art, and a fortunate accident.

Marriage Joins Two People
In The Circle Of Its Love
                                              Edmund O'Neill

Marriage is a commitment to life, the best that two people can
find and bring out in each other. It offers opportunities for
sharing and growth that no other relationship can equal.
It is a physical and emotional joining that is promised for a
lifetime.Within the Circle of Its Love, marriage
encompasses all of life's most important relationships.
AWife and a Husband are each other's best friend, confidant,
lover, teacher, listener and critic..And there may come times
when one partner is heartbroken or ailing, and the love of the
other may resemble the tender caring of a parent for a child.
Marriage deepens and enriches every facet of life, happiness is
fuller, memories are fresher, commitment is stronger, even
anger is felt more strongly. and passes away more quickly.
Marriage understands and forgives the mistakes Life is unable
to avoid.
It encourages and nurtures new life, new experiences and new
ways of expressing a love that is deeper than life.
When two people pledge their love and care for each other in
Marriage, they create a spirit unique unto themselves which
binds them closer than any spoken or written word.
Marriage is a promise, a potential made in the hearts of two
people who love each other, and it takes a lifetime to fulfill.

     Sooner Or Later

Sooner or later we begin to understand
that love is more than verses on valentines
and romance in the movies.
We begin to know that love is here and now, real and true,
the most important thing in our lives.
For love is the creator of our favorite memories
and the foundation of our fondest dreams.

Love is a promise that is always kept,
a fortune that can never be spent,
a seed that can flourish in even the most unlikely of places.
And this radiance that never fades,
this mysterious and magical joy,
is the greatest treasure of all, known only by those who love.

            True Love

True love is a sacred flame that burns eternally,
and none can dim its special glow or change its destiny.
True love speaks in tender tones and hears with gentle ear,
True love gives with open heart
and true love conquers fear.
True love makes no harsh demands, it neither rules nor binds,
and true love holds with gentle hands
the hearts that it entwines.

                  Our Love
                                       Bruce B. Wilmer

Our  love is something we have built
from passions, hopes and dreams.
It's safe from ant passing moods,
secure from all extremes.
It's something real and special,
something solid, something pure,
it's something we can always count on,
ringing sound and sure.
It's something grounded in the heart,
emitting confidence,
it lives in our emotions,
it is something we can sense.
Our love remains a binding force,
resistant to all  strife;
Amidst the outer pressures,
it's our anchor throughout life.

     The Key To Love
                                     Anon. 1st Cen. China

       The Key to Love is understanding,
the ability to comprehend not only the spoken word
             but those unspoken gestures,
the little things that say so much by themselves.

         The Key to Love is forgiveness---
 to accept each other's faults, and pardon mistakes,
       without forgetting, but with remembering
                what you learn from them.

               The Key to Love is sharing---
Facing your good fortunes as well as the bad together;
                  both conquering problems,
                 forever searching for ways
                 to intensify your happiness.

               The Key to Love is giving----
                  without thought of return,
       but with the hope of just a simple smile,
          and by giving in but never giving up.

                The Key to Love is respect----
          realizing that you are two separate people
                         with different ideas,
                 that you don't belong to each other,
                   that you belong with each other,
                     and share a mutual bond.

             The Key to Love is inside us all---
                  It takes time and patience
                 to unlock all the ingredients
             that will take you to its threshold;
             it is the continual learning process
                   that demands a lot of work
       but the rewards are more than worth the effort;
             And that is the Key to Love.

To Love

To love is to enter a whole new world:
a world of togetherness, a world of sharing---
all that is dearest and within your  hearts.

To love is to remember and keep alive forever
all those unique qualities that drew you to one another
in the beginning---those first halting phrases--
that wonderful feeling of oneness when your eyes first met.

To love is to constantly search for new ways
to bring each other happiness,
to make the most of every moment you share together,
and marvel at how your feelings for one another
keep rising to new dimensions.

To love is to create an oasis of tranquility for one another,
and a quiet place, apart from others,
where you need not pretend, where you can be yourselves---
and know within your hearts
you will be accepted by one another.

To love is to greet each day with anticipation---
always eager for another opportunity
to share new adventures
and gather up new memories together!

To love is to follow the rainbow through the rain,
to be able to laugh at yourselves
and be willing to say: "I was wrong"---"I am sorry,"
to forgive, and more importantly, to forget,
and to always believe and trust in one another.

To love is to watch with wonder all the miracles of creation,
to find beauty in all the simple things of life
and to find, within yourselves,
a deeper appreciation and a new awareness
of how wonderful it is to be alive---
to be happy---to be together.

To Love is coming together
from the pathways of your past and
then moving forward---hand  in  hand----
along the uncharted roads of your future,
ready to risk, to dream, and to dare,
always believing that all things are possible
with faith and love.

             Fidelity
                              D. H. Lawrence

      Man and woman are like the Earth,
       that brings forth flowers in summer,
                            and love,
                     but underneath is rock.
        Older than flowers, older than ferns,
               older than foraminiferae,
 older than plasm altogether is the soul underneath;
 And when, throughout all the wild chaos of love
                      slowly a gem forms
      in the ancient, once-more-molten rocks
          of two human hearts, two ancient rocks,
              a man's heart and a woman's
              that is the crystal of peace,
             the slow hard jewel of trust,
                 the sapphire of fidelity.
              The gem of mutual peace
           emerging from the wild chaos of love.
