Places To Be Married
There are many lovely places in the Greater
Kansas City area in which to hold a wedding
ceremony. If you want an outdoor wedding,
consider some of the parks, many of which
have fountains or lakes. Two of the loveliest
are the Rose Garden at Loose Park on the
Missouri side, and Antioch Park on the
Kansas side. Simply call Parks and
Recreation and talk to them. I would suggest
calling a year in advance The Kennedy
Memorial in Northeast Kansas City, Mo
has a pretty stretch of Grecian--like columns
which make a nice background. The Truman
Library in Independence, Mo has a gorgeous
park setting and the inside is rented out for
special events. It may be a little expensive but
worth checking into.

This church serves the Gay--Lesbian
community but they rent it out even to straight
couples for weddings. It is a lovely church
with stain-glass windows that lend an air of
spirituality and peace to a wedding. There is
also a chapel for small ceremonies. Rental
price is around $300, The vestibule can be
rented, also for receptions, if wished.

Beverly or Mary Jo
This is a quaint little chapel in an almost rural
setting.Lovely and quiet. and peaceful. It
rents for $400 for regular weddings and $500
for holidays. The ladies provide pianist, music
decorations in the fees, even a minister, if you
wish but I believe it would be a standard,
traditional service. If you want a personalized
ceremony, you would have to provide your own
minister. There is also a small but lovely
garden where outdoor ceremonies could be held
